ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Friday morning, several units responded to a vehicle fire in a parking garage at 156 East Main Street in Lexington — crews quickly put out the fire with no injuries or damage and investigators looked into its cause. LEX 18
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The Lexington Police Department is investigating a gas station robbery at the Speedway off South Broadway Road near Angliana Avenue at around 4:30 after a man stole cigarettes behind the counter—an employee was injured while trying to stop him—and she is expected to recover. WKYT
- ➤ Lexington police booked 22-year-old Jeffrey Ollie early Friday for his role in the January shooting that killed Daeivyon Elliott—police have identified 22-year-old Darrion Saliford as the killer while Brooklyn Trigg faces charges for complicity. WKYT

- ➤ Three UK alumni—J.D. Shelburne, Neil Medley and Hannah Ellis—have built country music careers in Nashville by writing songs and performing on big stages. They credit UK courses and its recording studio for giving them the skills to succeed in the competitive music market. The Lane Report

- ➤ Eastern Kentucky University announced a new partnership with Republic Airways on March 12 that gives EKU Aviation students a direct employment pathway through the RJet Cadet Program (offering conditional employment once they reach instrument rating). - ➤ Fayette County Public Schools will break ground in May for a new two-story 90,000-square-foot elementary school along Greendale Road to serve 750 students.
