ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Fayette County Coroner confirmed that 67-year-old Mary Downs died in a crash on Camelot Drive on Friday—her daughter Chaconna recalled her mom's kind heart and strong faith that touched everyone she met.  LEX 18

CRIME NEWS

  • Lexington Police arrested a second suspect, Devonte Terry, on Thursday for firing shots and damaging property near UK's campus at an off-campus Raising Cane’s; he faces one count of wanton endangerment (discharge of firearm) and six counts of criminal mischief.  WKYT
  • Christian County deputies responded to a domestic violence call on Clark Store Sinking Road in Crofton Saturday night and shot 39-year-old Patrick Martinez after he fired on them—he was pronounced dead at the scene—while Kentucky State Police opened an investigation.  LEX 18

SPORTS NEWS

  • UK women earned the number four seed in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament and will host the first two rounds at Historic Memorial Coliseum in Lexington — they will face the number thirteen seeded Liberty on Friday. Coach Kenny Brooks said Georgia Amoore’s experience is expected to be key as the team builds its home-court advantage.  WUKY
  • Kentucky Men’s Basketball Team earned a three seed in the NCAA Tournament’s Midwest Region in Coach Mark Pope’s first season and will face the No. 14 seed Troy on Friday in Milwaukee.  WUKY
