ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Officials reported that the roadway on Old Frankfort Road west of Alexandria Drive was shut down in both directions after an injury collision on Tuesday when a single vehicle was found on its side — motorists are urged to drive carefully and follow emergency instructions. LEX 18
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Lexington police searched for two suspects in an armed robbery at the CVS on Old Todds Road near Liberty Road early Monday morning at 1:30 a.m. — one suspect was armed with a gun and both fled with an unknown amount of cash. ABC 36
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Lexington is expecting a $10,000,000 boost from two NCAA tournament regionals running from Thursday through Sunday at Rupp Arena and Memorial Coliseum. Officials say the men’s game will tip off at 12:15 p.m. tomorrow and play begins at noon on Friday—hotels, restaurants and transportation are preparing for the influx. LEX 18
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Transylvania lowered summer tuition from $1,250 to $950 per class and expanded its online and hybrid courses for summer 2025, offering classes like Elementary Statistics and Public Speaking. Current students can register from March 24 through June 3 + non-enrolled students may also enroll for credit over the break. The Lane Report
- ➤ At Gatton College, Brad White—UK Football defensive coordinator—gave the keynote speech at the HIP event on Feb. 28 that focused on ethical leadership and teamwork. - ➤ Lextran Downtown Transit Center will close April 7 for an eight-month renovation project—its first major update in 34 years—and transit will move to High Street while riders will need to purchase passes online or at the administrative office and prepare for limited seating, shelter and restroom access during construction.
