  • A Lexington musician has decorated apartments for former foster children who spent time in about 13 different homes before they turned 18—this project gives them a chance to feel at home.  WKYT

CRIME NEWS

  • Lexington police arrested Randall Curtis, 44, after he robbed the Richmond Road Kroger at around 8 a.m. Wednesday—officers tracked him using camera footage and a license plate reader system, and no injuries were reported.  WKYT
  • Lexington police say a second suspect, Marquise Clark (26), has been taken into custody in Detroit on a murder charge in connection to the deadly shooting on Ohio Street that killed 24-year-old Tai’ Maricus Warner on March 11.  WKYT
  • The Lexington Police Department said on Thursday that a second person was charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting that killed Tai' Maricus Warner on Ohio Street on March 11th (26-year-old Marquise Clark was arrested in Detroit by the US Marshal Service and is being held at the Detroit Detention Center) following earlier charges against Phillip McElroy on March 14th.  LEX 18

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Academic teams from Rise STEM Academy for Girls and Sandersville Elementary won the 2025 Superintendent’s Cup — earning Morehead State and Midway University scholarships — during a spring Academic Challenge that had more than 500 students compete at the John D. Price Administration Building on March 26. A separate writing contest also rewarded individual students with One Community, One Voice and 529 College Savings Plan awards.  Fayette County Public Schools
  • Student leaders from universities gathered at the Capitol this morning with Governor Andy Beshear and state legislators to support higher education by discussing mental health, affordability and first-generation support—officials highlighted Senate Bill 77 for shifting doctoral program approvals from the legislature and noted the veto of House Bill 4 that aimed to cut DEI programs.  ABC 36

HEALTH NEWS

  • The University of Kentucky announced Transylvania University as its first educational partner for its new Advancing Kentucky Together Network that aims to boost health care. The memorandum signed on Wednesday lets Transylvania undergrads transfer easily to the UK College of Public Health master’s program and supports UK HealthCare's plan to add 5,000 health professionals in the next decade—strengthening the workforce.  The Lane Report
