ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Residents in Woodford County evacuated their homes as rising flood waters made streets look like lakes with some areas reaching up to seven feet. Authorities warned that the Kentucky River could crest at 47 feet on Monday morning—emergency shelters are in place for those affected.  LEX 18

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Woodford County officials say severe flooding has led to planned power outages by LG&E and KU along Buck Run Road—Old Clifton Road, Clifton Road and Lower Clifton Road with no set time for restoration. In Versailles, officials told residents to use less water as the city’s sewer system has reached full capacity and overflowed.  WKYT
