ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Fire crews came Thursday morning to a burning home in the 2700 block of Paris Pike in Lexington that was being fixed up—firefighters put out the blaze with no injuries and no one was forced to leave, and they are still checking the cause. WKYT
- ➤ Lexington police say a 62-year-old man died from blunt trauma injuries after a single vehicle collision on Larkin Road— the Fayette County Coroner identified the victim as Paul Randall Williams. ABC 36
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Jaime Caldwell, a Lexington elementary school teacher, pleaded not guilty to DUI hit-and-run charges after she struck a pedestrian on Georgetown Road around 6:50 a.m. Wednesday—she was arrested at her school with a breath test showing a .278 BAC, faced a full cash bond of $25,000 and is scheduled to return to court on April 29 at 8:30 a.m. ABC 36

- ➤ Ten years after his death, former University of Kentucky student and Kernel Photo Editor Jonathan Krueger is remembered as his family marked what would have been his 32nd birthday on April 12. - ➤ Fayette County Public Schools has named Eric Neely as the new principal at Bryan Station Middle School; he will begin his role on July 1. Neely currently serves as an academy coach at Bryan Station High School and holds degrees in English, Spanish, and School Leadership — bringing 12 years of educational experience to the position. - ➤ Kentucky lawmakers signed Senate Bill 77, which lets public universities ask to offer professional and PhD programs. Aaron Thompson from the Council on Postsecondary Education said Eastern Kentucky University will add an osteopathic medicine program, Murray State University is working on a veterinary program, and Western Kentucky University wants to start research doctorates—each proposal must meet quality measures and funding support.
