CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Lexington police reported one person was shot early Friday morning near the 100 block of Lakeshore Drive after receiving a 7:08 a.m. call—no injuries or damage were reported as they continue their investigation. LEX 18
- ➤ A man was hurt in downtown Lexington after a shooting at Third Street and N Broadway just before 10:30 p.m. Thursday—his gunshot wound was non-life-threatening when he later went to a hospital. WKYT
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ At its April meeting, the CPE board approved a recommendation to limit increases in tuition and fees for resident students for academic years 2025-26 and 2026-27—research universities may add up to $675 total, regional ones up to $630 total, and community colleges up to $9 per credit hour. The board also approved new academic programs at Kentucky State, Morehead State, Murray State, the University of Kentucky and Western Kentucky—along with repairs at Murray State and a rebuild of the outdoor tennis complex at Northern Kentucky and revisions to funding guidelines.
