- ➤ Dozens of people gathered at Arboretum Park today for the second annual Blue Morpho Walk to raise funds for Kentucky Children's Hospital to help cancer patients. The walk was launched by Melanie Simpson Conley in honor of her daughter Alexandra Simpson and featured a visit to the Alexandra Simpson Butterfly Garden to celebrate her life. LEX 18
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A Lexington teenager, 17-year-old Matthew Perrine, was killed in a head-on crash on Bryan Station Road Saturday that injured six others, and a celebration of his life is planned for May 4. ABC 36
- ➤ A single-vehicle crash occurred on I—75 in Lexington when a car left the southbound lane and crossed into the northbound lane near mile marker 110 around 4:40 a.m. Sunday, causing one fatality and the closure of both lanes until further notice. WKYT
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Kentucky Lottery reported that a winning Powerball ticket worth $167.3 million sold at Clark's Pump N Shop in Georgetown on April 26 marks the largest jackpot ever won in the state. The winner has 180 days to claim the prize with a cash option of $77.3 million — lottery officials advise signing the ticket and seeking legal advice. LEX 18
