- ➤ Lexington's historic Pope Villa is set for a $3.2 million restoration after the Blue Grass Trust signed a development agreement to repair the 1811 building near downtown. - ➤ Godolphin’s Sovereignty won the Kentucky Derby on Saturday while Good Cheer claimed the Kentucky Oaks, making the stable only the fifth owner in 151 years to win both races (no similar feat has been achieved since the 1950s). After Tuesday’s announcement that Sovereignty would skip the Preakness Stakes, his connections plan for him to run in the Belmont Stakes while Good Cheer is set to race in the Acorn Stakes in June.
