- ➤ Crinda Francke, President and CEO of ExecuTrain in Lexington, was named Kentucky’s Small Business Person of the Year for 2025 by the U.S. Small Business Administration. - ➤ Lexington Police said one suspect was arrested Thursday night for a stolen vehicle after Flock cameras located the car in the Bryan Station Road Planet Fitness parking lot—Kentucky State Police got the 9:24 p.m. call and no injuries were reported. FOX 56
- ➤ Lexington police say a juvenile was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after an accidental shooting on Thursday at Biloxi Court around 11:30 p.m. + officers reported that multiple people were playing with a firearm when they arrived. WKYT
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Kentucky schools warned parents after recent incidents at Southern Middle School on Thursday and West Jessamine Middle School yesterday where students attempted a dangerous TikTok challenge by short-circuiting school-issued Chromebooks, triggering evacuations. Officials stressed that the trend could lead to fires and expensive repairs—each Chromebook costs about $275—and urged parents to talk with their children about online safety. WKYT
