- ➤ Three exotic birds were stolen from Adventure Pets after a tornado damaged the shop in London but have been returned thanks to community efforts on social media—loyal customers even helped track the birds down. Owner Michael Lykins said he is now focusing on reopening the shop and processing the shocking theft. LEX 18
- ➤ Over the weekend, University of Kentucky men’s basketball coach Mark Pope helped clear tree debris from damaged homes in London after deadly storms claimed 19 lives in Laurel County—he said the devastation was heartbreaking but he is confident that Kentuckians will rebuild together. ABC 36

- ➤ A 73-year-old man named Lukonga Mulenda died at 8:32 a.m. on May 17 when his vehicle crashed near Fontaine Road and Chinoe Road — the coroner’s report ruled the incident an accident and the Lexington Police Department is investigating. FOX 56
- ➤ The Wolfe County Search and Rescue Team saved a woman who fell 15 feet unroped while climbing at Tower Rock crag in Red River Gorge on Monday evening — she was placed in a stokes basket and flown to UK Hospital for definitive care. LEX 18
