- ➤ Lexington's Recovery Cafe celebrated its 5th anniversary with community gatherings that featured food, live music, and support—marking its role as a judgment-free space for those on recovery journeys since it opened in March 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. LEX 18
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Two adults were displaced after a home at the 1000 block of Shagbark Lane near Tates Creek Road caught fire Saturday evening at around 9:30 p.m. + heavy smoke and flames were seen from the second floor and roof as the fire was extinguished and an investigation began with no injuries reported. - ➤ LEXINGTON — One person died when a pickup truck and a motorcycle crashed near the intersection of North Limestone and West Short Street on Friday night just before 11 p.m. on May 23. FOX 56
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Lexington police responded to a reported motorcycle and truck crash at the intersection of East Short Street and North Limestone around 11 p.m. Friday—one person was pronounced dead at the scene as the investigation continues. WKYT

- ➤ Fayette County Public Schools honored top teachers and staff at the Global Awards on May 23 at Central Bank Center. The event celebrated hard work from educators — including teacher of the year Laurie Edmond and secondary teacher of the year Jo-Hanna Rosevear — and many support team members.
