ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A house fire on the 1100 block of Shagbark Lane just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday night displaced two Lexington residents—firefighters put out the flames while investigators began determining the cause. FOX 56
- ➤ Police responded to a crash on the 2400 block of Bryan Station Road around 4:30 a.m. Sunday that sent two people to the hospital with life-threatening injuries — the cause is still under investigation. WKYT
- ➤ A car crash on Bryan Station Road happened just after 4:30 a.m. on Sunday and seriously injured two people who were taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries—police are still investigating the incident. LEX 18
- ➤ Lexington Fire crews fought an electrical house fire on Richmond Avenue early Sunday after 6:30 a.m.—the fire spread to the back of the home and the family escaped safely, though they will be temporarily displaced. LEX 18
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A woman was shot early Sunday morning at 2 a.m. on East High Street + South Limestone in downtown Lexington and was taken to a local hospital where she is expected to recover. LEX 18
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ At Tuesday’s meeting, the Fayette County Public Schools board will ask the fiscal court to raise the occupational license tax (a proposal to change it from 0.5% to 0.75%) to help bridge a $16 million budget gap. Some parents are upset by the plan and plan to attend the meeting (with the tax expected to earn $57 million next fiscal year) to voice their concerns. WKYT
