- ➤ Today, the Davis Park community center in a Lexington neighborhood relocated 20 years ago opens its doors, offering a multipurpose space with a basketball half-court and technology room as described by Byron Mitchell, the Lexington Community Land Trust president. - ➤ On Thursday, the Kentucky Farm Bureau told lawmakers that the state lost 1.4 million acres of farmland over the last 20 years and about 12 acres every hour in the past five years—driven by rising costs and the breakup of family farms. The Bureau launched the Kentucky Farmland Transition Initiative to connect retiring farmers with buyers and explore policy options to help protect farmland. WUKY

- ➤ In the 1920s, local Caldwell County residents purchased 400 acres near Princeton and invited the University of Kentucky to set up a research center for farming experiments focusing on dairy and beef cattle. - ➤ Fayette County officials stopped a vote on the occupational tax increase planned for Thursday after the Attorney General declared the school board's earlier vote void—state law requires a formal hearing for new or increased taxes. - ➤ LEXINGTON, Ky — The city's 9-1-1 emergency system is down because a service provider issue stops calls from reaching operators, and officials urge residents to call 3-1-1 or text 9-1-1 in emergencies. Dispatchers are seeing incoming calls and will return them using a separate phone system until the problem is fixed. ABC 36

- ➤ Congress is pushing for Medicaid cuts and extra work rules that could take away treatment for opioid use—experts say more than 54,000 Kentuckians rely on Medicaid for drugs like suboxone and methadone and fear reduced funds will reverse gains in lowering overdose deaths. WUKY
- ➤ AVOL Kentucky announced that the CDC suspended federal funds for HIV prevention services—resulting in a $200,000 loss that will begin on July 1 and delay hiring for two full-time positions.
