  • After a month of planning, local volunteers gathered beside the Licking River in Pendleton County to remove trash and tires in honor of Robert Boo Singleton— a man who kept Butler clean until his death in April. State Senator Shelley Funke Frommeyer said an educational watercraft launch named after Boo will be added to the project to support wellness and boost tourism.  LEX 18
  • On Friday, June 6, a rally for National Gun Violence Awareness Day was held downtown at Courthouse Plaza on North Limestone and local groups asked people to wear orange— a color that shows support for gun violence victims and survivors.  ABC 36

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Multiple occupants in a Lexington apartment complex were evacuated after a vehicle hit a gas meter just before 2 p.m. on Saturday + Columbia Gas shut off the gas while fire crews confirmed the building was stable and investigators examined the crash.  FOX 56

CRIME NEWS

  • Lexington police responded to an armed robbery at the CVS on Walden Dr. early Saturday morning when a suspect, a black male who entered with a weapon and demanded cash, fled on foot with no cash stolen and no injuries reported as the investigation continues.  WKYT
