- ➤ Today at 2 p.m., Lexington area charities will receive 79 grants totaling nearly $400,000 from the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels—part of a $2.5 million effort to support over 300 nonprofits in central Kentucky amid tough economic times. - ➤ Lexington Blue, a roofing company accused of taking payments and not completing work, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Tuesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky—its owner Brad Pagel said the company owes over $3 million to former customers and employees. - ➤ On June 14th, Laura Mobley-Corn said her Express Employment Professionals building nearly burned after an unknown person kicked in a window and set the office on fire by throwing accelerant — damage is estimated at roughly $100,000 and police are reviewing camera footage along Patchen Drive. - ➤ Lexington police arrested 48-year-old Devonna Mitchell for criminal mischief and trespassing after a window at A Cup of Common Wealth was shattered over the weekend—founder Salvador Sanchez said the shop, which has had repeated break-ins during its 12 years in business, was recently featured on Good Morning America. - ➤ A Lexington man was arrested after a multi-county pursuit on Monday evening when Kentucky State Police attempted to stop his speeding vehicle on I-64, which nearly struck pedestrians and led him to flee on foot—27-year-old Nathaniel Danzy is now booked in the Fayette County Detention Center and faces charges including speeding, fleeing police, wanton endangerment, reckless driving, possession of marijuana, and criminal mischief. - ➤ Lexington police said one person died in a single-vehicle crash on Boston Road just before 2 a.m. Tuesday — they closed the road at Dylan Place while investigating the incident. LEX 18
