- ➤ Today, the Catholic Action Center and its volunteers drove the bright yellow Compassionate Caravan around Lexington — giving water in the intense heat to homeless residents and others in need; this marks the 26th year of their service as they plan to open another shelter soon to help those affected by the heat. - ➤ On Saturday, over 600 family members and friends gathered at the University of Kentucky campus to celebrate the life of Noah Tinch, who died while fishing on June 12 before his 19th birthday. - ➤ Andrew Hurley organized a pickleball tournament in Laurel County to honor his father Lt. Travis Hurley, a 20 year veteran with the London Police Department who served as a school resource officer before passing from COVID-19 in 2022. - ➤ Lexington police responded at 3:30 a.m. on the 2700 block of Meadowsweet Lane—officers found a man in his vehicle with a gunshot wound who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and the investigation is ongoing. WKYT
