- ➤ Newtown Pike is closed today after Thursday's storms damaged power poles and electric lines. Kentucky Utilities is replacing the lines for about 400 affected customers while police set detours—Citation Boulevard is also closed until repairs finish by 10am Friday. WKYT

- ➤ A Lexington woman was charged with felony animal cruelty after a search warrant found a dead dog and another severely emaciated at her home—authorities say the animals showed signs of neglect without access to food or water. LEX 18
- ➤ Lexington police detained Kenric Mitchell, 30, at a Speedway on South Limestone near the University of Kentucky Hospital at 2:02 a.m.—he now faces five counts of sexual abuse and related charges after a minor, abused since age 10, was found with injuries consistent with sodomy. FOX 56

- ➤ The Lexington History Museum has opened the 'Intersections' exhibit that spans 250 years of Lexington history—showcasing a timeline from 1775 with artifacts and audio clips that highlight local contributions. - ➤ The Lexington Fire Department returned Ladder 6 to service yesterday after a $1 million refurbishment of the 2003 truck ensured every worn part was replaced and tradition was honored with a symbolic push by firefighters and Mayor Linda Gorton.
