ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Lexington fire officials responded early Monday to a gas leak at Oxford Circle Apartments that left 1 man dead and 11 people in the hospital after detecting high carbon monoxide levels; they forced open over 30 apartment doors to evacuate residents—officials continue to ventilate the building and investigate the cause. - ➤ Lexington police arrested one man in connection with a June robbery on Laramie Drive—two men held up two women at gunpoint and stole $10 before fleeing the scene. FOX 56
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Last Tuesday, the GGP Committee approved the original zoning ordinance text amendment for solar panel installations in Lexington and rejected changes to allow ground-mounted panels on rural farmland — language supporting the city's SolSmart application was added. Councilmember Sheehan said she and Councilmember Sevigny will form a workgroup over the summer to develop new recommendations — the group is expected to meet starting this Fall. CivicLex
