ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Lexington police said that 47-year-old Shaun Stamper died from blunt force trauma around 3:40 p.m. yesterday when his moped collided with a vehicle on Russell Cave Road and Dixiana Domino Road — the other driver stayed at the scene and will not face charges. FOX 56

- ➤ Crunch Fitness announced that its new 40,000-square-foot gym, Crunch Lexington, a $5 million facility operated by Fitness Ventures LLC, will open this winter at 125 East Reynolds Road in the former Joann’s building. - ➤ Darrell Blankenship pleaded guilty to assaulting Lexington native Kasey Dickens when he attacked her car at a red light on UK’s campus in August and on Friday was sentenced to five years in prison with no probation (he had already served nearly one year). WKYT

- ➤ Lexington Theatre Company opened its tenth season with a revival of 42nd Street on Thursday at Lexington Opera House—Governor Andy Beshear made a cameo in the production. The show runs today at 1:00 and 7:30 p.m. and continues with performances on Sunday, July 13. WUKY

- ➤ Kentucky schools will start the new school year using virtual reality headsets to let students explore careers at local businesses, with over 2,000 devices supplied since 2022.
