  • Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton announced a community vigil for Tuesday evening to honor those affected by recent violence—everyone will gather at 6 p.m. at the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza, where police chief Lawrence Weathers, sheriff Kathy Witt and local faith leaders will stand in solidarity.  ABC 36

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Lexington’s Distillery District now uses a QR code parking system that lets drivers select the 'District Shop Parking' option and gives them 40 minutes to validate their visit for two free hours of parking before a fee applies—local business owners say the change protects spots for genuine customers and plan to add the system to another lot side soon.  FOX 56

CRIME NEWS

  • Lexington police responded to Bryan Station Inn on Saturday morning after reports of a woman being stabbed and found the victim had minor injuries—an assault report was filed.  LEX 18
  • Lexington police identified the officers involved in shooting a gunman at a Richmond Road church—officials said the investigation is ongoing.  WKYT
  • Kentucky State Police released the names of three Lexington police officers—Sergeant Ross Collins, Officer Kyle Blankenship, and Officer Simon Rankin—placed on administrative leave after they fired their weapons during the July 13 shooting at Richmond Road Baptist Church, where suspect Guy House died at the scene.  ABC 36
  • Kentucky residents received scam texts falsely claiming to be from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, and a spokesperson said the agency only sends mail — do not click any links and report suspicious messages to the FTC or FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center — to help protect against fraud.  FOX 56
  • Lexington police identified Sergeant Ross Collins, Officer Kyle Blankenship + Officer Simon Rankin as the officers who reportedly shot suspect Guy House during the July 13 shooting at Richmond Road Baptist Church, and they were placed on administrative leave as the investigation continues.  FOX 56
