CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Lexington police investigated a shooting on Eastern Avenue on Tuesday just before 12:30 p.m. when they found a man with a gunshot wound who was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover — no suspect information has been released. ABC 36
- ➤ A vigil in downtown Lexington honored victims Beverly Gumm and Christina Combs of last week’s church shooting at Richmond Road Baptist Church — local leaders stressed the need for increased gun violence awareness — while police provided domestic violence support resources. FOX 56
- ➤ City leaders, faith organizers & grieving families gathered at the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse on Tuesday to honor the July 13 church shooting victims, including 72-year-old Beverly Gumm and 34-year-old Christina Combs, while urging the community to take steps to stop violence. ABC 36
