- ➤ Four Lexington locals helped when state trooper Jude Remilien— a 3-year veteran— was shot at Bluegrass Airport on July 13 during a mass shooting and saved his life. Governor Beshear honored them with the title Kentucky Colonel for their brave actions. WUKY
- ➤ LIHEAP has opened applications for families to get help with their electric bills and keep cool this summer — the program will accept walk-ins or appointments until September 12 and serves households in local counties based on income and housing type. WKYT
