  • Apple announced a $2.5 billion expansion of the Corning plant in Harrodsburg—where cover glass for new iPhones and Apple Watches will be made—boosting the workforce by 50% and adding an innovation center.  ABC 36

CRIME NEWS

  • Cities United and ONE Lexington joined forces to launch a new five-year plan called All Hearts on Deck to reduce youth gun violence—this plan was announced Thursday afternoon after recent gun violence incidents that included a church shooting on Old Richmond Road and a juvenile being seriously injured.  LEX 18
  • Drew Johnson is asking for anyone who saw or heard details leading up to his mother Linda Johnson’s death in a DUI crash on Man O’War Blvd in Lexington five days ago—Stephen Barber was charged with DUI and his passenger Gary Feltner was in the car.  LEX 18

  • Today, Cities United joined ONE Lexington in hosting its Leading the Way Tour—investing over $100,000 to support local efforts against youth violence. The tour also launched the new All Hearts on Deck strategic plan—designed to guide efforts to reduce youth and young adult gun violence.  LEX 18
