- ➤ The NTSB reported that loose—missing parts in the helicopter control system—caused the crash on November 22, 2022, which killed former ABC 36 meteorologist Jason Myers and pilot Chip Tayag near a busy highway; his loss is still deeply felt in Lexington. ABC 36
- ➤ On Thursday morning, a crash on southbound I-75 near the Clays Ferry Bridge left one person dead and another injured when Lexington Police responded around 10 a.m. at mile marker 97—drivers experienced delays from a lane reduction. WKYT

- ➤ Fayette County Public Schools superintendent Demetrus Liggins said the district’s carry-forward balance for 2025-26 will drop to between $15 and $22 million from $42 million because of delayed tax revenue, child nutrition debt and higher retirement costs — he will update numbers later this month and plans to meet with the budget group in early September.
