- ➤ Fire crews spent hours combating a garbage fire at a Lexington landfill near Haley Pike on August 16 — officials have not yet confirmed if the blaze was fully extinguished. WKYT

- ➤ The Madison County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help finding 14-year-old Scarlett Hayes, who left her home Tuesday at 11:30 p.m. wearing a white hoodie and black sweatpants and may have gotten into a blue Mustang—if anyone has information, they should call 859-624-4776. LEX 18
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ For the past four years, the Lexington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution has maintained the Bethel Presbyterian Church cemetery by cleaning graves and researching those interred, and on Saturday the group honored Revolutionary women and girls during a ceremony that marked 23 graves — nine patriots and 14 family members.
