ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Traffic is moving slowly through the Southern Split on I-75 after a semi overturned near mile marker 111—drivers face delays as crews work to clear the scene with lanes reduced to one in each direction.  ABC 36

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Gray of Lexington now plans to meet rising U.S. manufacturing demand with its design build services that join design, engineering, construction, specialty equipment, and real estate. The company said its integrated project delivery method will help customers handle record orders (as reported by the U.S. Census Bureau) and manage tight capacity (with backlogs growing).  The Lane Report
  • WildEggs is opening a new Lexington restaurant today at 4228 Saron Drive, Suite A that will offer breakfast and brunch options. The new site is the third in the city for franchisee Travis Hall and is part of the chain's 18 locations across Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio.  WKYT
  • LexCut started using electric mowbots from Scythe Robotics to maintain 140 acres at Red Mile racetrack, where the robots mow up to an acre and a half per hour and run for eight hours on a charge. The machines pause automatically when they meet obstacles—helping prepare the venue for its upcoming Grand Circuit meet.  LEX 18

CRIME NEWS

  • Lexington woman Keaira Pennie, charged with murder in connection with the August 10 shooting death of Edwin Haddix on Bryan Station Road, will have her preliminary hearing next week as investigators continue their work.  ABC 36

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Andy Beshear announced today that Bromazolam—also known as Designer Xanax—is banned in Kentucky so law enforcement can now arrest those caught selling or possessing it. Attorney General Russell Coleman led a 21-state coalition that asked the DEA to issue a federal ban after 47 Kentuckians died from overdoses last year.  WKYT
