- ➤ The third annual Kenwick Porch Fest takes place today in the Kenwick neighborhood with 37 musicians playing on 18 different porches. Organizers say the free event will feature a mix of musical styles—guests are encouraged to bring cash to tip performers. WUKY
- ➤ Gatton Park opens today in downtown Lexington after a decade of planning and two years of work. The 12-acre park—built on the old Rupp Arena parking lot—has a big lawn for up to 5,000 people and free concerts that end with a show by Noah Thompson at 8:15 p.m. WKYT

- ➤ Cavender’s Boot City opened its first Kentucky store at Fayette Mall on Friday and offered a 15,126-square-foot selection of western wear and in-store services (boot fitting and hat shaping) for men, women, and children. ABC 36

- ➤ Rise STEM Academy for Girls was named Kentucky’s 2025 Elementary School of the Year by NEED—its Green Team led a cafeteria cleanup and recycling projects aimed at saving resources.
