BUSINESS NEWS

  • According to a Monday social media post, the Vinaigrette Salad Kitchen on Broadway in downtown Lexington closed its location and thanked customers for their support — while listing other café locations in Lexington and Louisville.  LEX 18

CRIME NEWS

  • Lexington police arrested 20-year-old Jaylin Clark after a carjacking and robbery early Monday when officers responded to a report on Cambridge Drive and later spotted the suspect armed with a rifle on Lakeshore Drive—he now faces charges including wanton endangerment, fleeing, and possession of a firearm as he was treated for minor injuries.  WKYT
  • Officers went to a robbery on Cambridge Drive near 2 a.m. Monday and later chased a suspect on Lakeshore Drive who was armed with a rifle—he fired one shot before officers fired back, and while no one was hurt, the suspect received minor injuries, was taken to a hospital and is now in custody as the investigation continues.  WKYT
  • Lexington police are investigating an officer-involved shots-fired incident on Lakeshore Drive Monday — no injuries were reported and roads have reopened as officers continue the investigation.  ABC 36
  • Lexington police said a man fired a shot at officers during an early morning pursuit on Monday on the 2000 block of Cambridge Drive while responding to a robbery call; he suffered minor injuries, was treated, and is now in custody—Kentucky State Police are investigating the incident and expect to file charges.  ABC 36

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Fayette County Board of Education met Monday at 5:30 p.m. at the John D. Price Administration Building—where the superintendent presented a report and the board reviewed an unaudited year-end financial report following a special budget meeting last week.  ABC 36

HEALTH NEWS

  • Two confirmed cases of West Nile virus in Kentucky have led horse owners to check their animals closely as mosquito season continues—veterinarians advise vaccinating horses and removing standing water to help lower infection risk.  LEX 18

SPORTS NEWS

  • Keeneland began the 82nd September Yearling Sale yesterday at 1 p.m. in Lexington, featuring over 4,600 horses including yearlings by Flightline and Life Is Good — the free event continues until September 20.  ABC 36
