- ➤ Lexington woman Lisa Cox was shocked after being named winner of the 2025 St. Jude DreamHome at 4108 Meadowlark Road—10,000 tickets sold raised $1 million for StJude Children's Research Hospital as she prepared for her son’s wedding in New York. WKYT
- ➤ Today at 5:30 p.m. on WKYT News, a winner will be chosen to receive a brand-new home built by Mulberry Builders on Meadowlark Lane in Lexington—this follows a record $1 million raised for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and additional prize drawings will occur through the afternoon. WKYT
- ➤ Thursday's Walk a Mile in Our Shoes event at Lexy's Lyric Theatre (5:30 p.m.) brought together families who lost a loved one to gun violence and displayed keepsakes to share their memories. - ➤ The World Chicken Festival will begin this weekend in London — organizers expect up to 100,000 people to attend one of southern Kentucky’s largest festivals. WKYT
- ➤ Lexington Parks and Recreation is looking for 1,000 zombies to join the annual Thriller Parade on October 26—participants must register and attend rehearsals at Artworks at the Carver School, with special auditions on October 4 at 3:00 p.m. to cast Michael Jackson and Ola. WKYT

- ➤ Kentucky wildlife officials tracked a large outbreak of Hemorrhagic Disease in white-tailed deer after more than 1,000 deer were reported sick or dead as of Sept.22 across 94 counties, and residents are urged to report any sick or dead deer using the online tool+ each report helps biologists monitor the outbreak. - ➤ Lexington Pizza Week is underway and restaurants are offering unique flavors for fans to enjoy — many establishments are showcasing creative, limited-edition pizza slices throughout the event. WKYT

- ➤ Frederick Douglass High School’s boys’ golf team finished second in Region 9 and will play in the 2025 KHSAA state tournament — several FCPS players, including Ashton Gordon and Winston Zhuang, earned state spots in both boys and girls events. Fayette County Public Schools

- ➤ University of Kentucky Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart updated state lawmakers on the school's use of the NIL Go platform after over 500 athletes signed in with 240 approved deals.
