  • The PNC Foundation has awarded Lexington Rescue Mission a $150,000 grant to expand their workforce development programs, including launching Circles Lexington to support individuals re-entering the workforce.  The Lane Report
  • WKYT, along with partners, is collecting toys and clothing on Thursday to ensure 10,000 children in Appalachia have presents and warm clothes for Christmas.  WKYT
  • Lexington Police Department offers guidance to help residents protect their packages from theft, recommending measures such as requiring signatures for deliveries, using safer drop-off locations, and installing doorbell cameras.  ABC 36
  • Lexington opens several warming centers to provide daytime shelter for residents needing warmth during winter, with additional resources for overnight assistance.  ABC 36

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A morning fire in a Lexington apartment on Codell Drive displaced one person and is under investigation; no injuries were reported.  LEX 18

CRIME NEWS

  • Lexington police officer suspended after involvement in five crashes over two years, and a local property owner faces a lawsuit for decades of alleged sexual harassment against female tenants.  WKYT
  • Danny Sims, charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence in the 2022 death of William Ashby at a Lexington motel, is scheduled for a court hearing.  ABC 36
  • Juan Linares is scheduled for sentencing for the 2022 murder of Michael Yocum in Lexington.  ABC 36
