  • The Summit at Fritz Farm, a shopping center on Man o’ War Boulevard and Nicholasville Road, has been sold to Wisconsin-based Hendricks Commercial Properties from Swift Creek Real Estate Partners and Centennial Real Estate Management LLC. The purchase price was not confirmed.  WKYT

CRIME NEWS

  • Nicholasville and Lexington police are working together in their search for two missing teens—15-year-old Aoun Basboos and 16-year-old Ali Naqvi, last seen May 11 and linked to a shooting investigation—while Bluegrass Crime Stoppers has offered a $5,000 reward for information.  LEX 18
  • Police responded to an overnight crash at the intersection of Nicholasville Road and Zandale Drive in Lexington just before 12:30 a.m. Friday and arrested a driver on suspicion of DUI while taking another to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries — the investigation is ongoing.  ABC 36

CULTURE NEWS

  • Sabine Renault-Sablonière, a direct descendant of the Marquis de Lafayette, visited Lexington on May 16th to mark the 200th anniversary of his historic trip through the city — former local leader Dale Henley said the event celebrated an important milestone in our heritage.  WUKY

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Bryan Station High and SCAPA at Bluegrass students excelled at the KYAEA 2025 all-state art competition as Krisean Smith won Best in Show 3D for 'Meanwhile' while other FCPS winners earned first-place awards in ceramics, painting, and video. Middle school students from SCAPA also received honors and the high school art show runs through May 24 at the Bolivar Gallery on UK campus — showcasing award-winning art from local schools.  Fayette County Public Schools

  • Kentucky Chamber President and CEO Ashli Watts was elected as inaugural chair of the Energy Planning and Inventory Commission — a new agency created by the General Assembly in 2024 to review the retirement of utility generation facilities. The commission aims to boost transparency and analysis to maintain a reliable, affordable energy supply for the state.  The Lane Report
