- ➤ A Lexington lawmaker has proposed new legislation to ban school districts from using taxpayer money to hire lobbyists—targeting Fayette County Public Schools after an investigation found a $38,000 lobbying contract during a $16 million budget shortfall. - ➤ City officials announced an improved snow response plan today after a severe January storm left many Lexington streets slick and forced schools to close.
